As one of the world’s leading centres of research in music studies, the Faculty of Music has an exceptional record in training leading scholars and composers. As well as internationally renowned academic staff, Cambridge offers exceptional resources and facilities for advanced study, and frequent visits by distinguished scholars. Equally important is the lively and supportive environment provided by our large postgraduate community, with around 50 taught and research students in residence at any one time. Our postgraduate programmes include:
– a 9-month MPhil in Music combining structured teaching with individual supervised study. This is a free-standing programme but is particularly suitable as a basis for doctoral studies at Cambridge or elsewhere
– a Doctoral programme, available full-time over three years or part-time over five.
