The Master of Music in Music History program provides exceptional training in music history and literature to prepare you for the job-market and to continue further your career in musicology. Students will enhance their research and writing skills, and continue to develop their own comprehensive knowledge of musicology through study of music theory, history and analysis. You’ll explore other areas of specialization through directed work with professors and additional coursework in a wide array of topics.
Students in this program have taken part in co-research projects with faculty members, presented at conferences and symposiums, co-authored articles, been accepted for doctoral programs in musicology, and gained valuable teaching experience at the college level through teaching music history courses, music appreciation courses, and tutoring.
