The Pacific-Southwest Chapter of the American Musicological Society (PSC-AMS) will hold our Spring 2026 chapter meeting at the California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The program committee welcomes abstracts of 350 words on any musicological topic. Completed papers should require no more than 20 minutes for full delivery, followed by 5–10 minutes for questions and discussion.
Please e-mail the title and abstract of your proposed talk in a .docx file without any personally identifying information to Stephen Hudson (shudson@oxy.edu) by 11:59pm on Tuesday, February 17. In your email, please include your name, any A/V requirements, and either your institutional affiliation or city of residence. After a blind review by the program committee, we plan to notify authors whose proposals are accepted by March 1, to allow time to make travel plans. We encourage anyone submitting a proposal to become a member of the local chapter or update their membership. For more details, visit our the “membership and dues” tab on our website.
If you are a student currently enrolled in a graduate program within the geographic boundary of our chapter area, please indicate this in your email when you submit a proposal, as you are eligible to compete for the 2026 Ingolf Dahl Award. This award recognizes the best paper read at our Spring meeting each year. If you’re unsure whether your institution lies within our jurisdiction, please see the map in Article II of our bylaws. You must also become a member of the chapter to compete for the Dahl Award.
