The NYU GSAS Music Department is excited to announce the Fall 2026 Distortions Graduate Conference, which will be held on October 2-3, 2026, at the Washington Square Campus.
The conference will feature a keynote address by Mara Mills (Director of the Center for Disability Studies, Associate Professor, and PhD Director in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University) and a keynote performance (to be announced). We invite proposals for paper presentations, performances, sound art, and audiovisual installations from artists and scholars at any career stage and from any discipline. We especially encourage graduate students and independent artists and researchers to submit. Proposals are due by 11:59pm EDT Friday, May 1, 2026.
