Duties:
University of Tennessee’s musicology unit within the Natalie L. Haslam College of Music is an integrated program in historical musicology and ethnomusicology. Teaching and research approaches that blend these methodologies and that encourage interdisciplinary thinking are welcome. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the vibrant life of the recently established Natalie L. Haslam College of Music. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee seeks candidates who have the ability to promote an atmosphere where all members of the university community feel welcome and can thrive.

The University of Tennessee Natalie L. Haslam College of Music offers a broad and comprehensive professional music program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music. The College has approximately 60 faculty members and approximately 350 music majors.

Meet the qualifications for being an Associate Professor within UTK’s faculty handbook and the NLH College of Music bylaws; these qualifications normally include having served as an assistant professor for at least 5 years and having served as mentor to junior faculty.
Candidates for the rank of Full Professor must:
Meet the qualifications for being a Full Professor within UTK’s faculty handbook and the NLH College of Music bylaws; these qualifications normally include having served as an associate professor for at least 5 years and having served as mentor to junior faculty.
