One of the premier musicology programs in the nation, we offer courses in
music from all periods, an outstanding music library, and the resources of a major research
university with a comprehensive school of music. But we are also a close, active, and
friendly community of scholars.
Our graduate students and faculty members gather almost weekly to present and discuss
research for our Musicology Colloquium Series.
The Graduate Musicology Association plans numerous get-togethers for the department,
including picnics, concerts, or other events.
Master’s students participate in a Musicology Reading Group to discuss recent
literature, while doctoral students find opportunities for close work with faculty and
fellow students through our seminars and methods courses.
Complementing our wide range of world-class resources and strong sense of community, we also
offer robust financial aid and individualized attention.
