The University of North Georgia announces the Ninth Annual Research on Contemporary Composition Conference, to be held October 25–26, 2025. The conference will feature music performances and research focused on music composed within the past 15 years. The conference will also feature social events such as a group dinner.
We invite papers on all topics related to the composition, performance, and teaching of recently composed music. Presentations will be limited to 30 minutes, and are permitted to be shorter. This is a student-friendly conference, and we particularly encourage submissions from undergraduate and graduate students.
All papers will be selected based on relevance and quality. We encourage music scholarship of any type with emphasis given to music composed within the past 15 years.
We also welcome the performance of recent composition (composed within the past 15 years). In conjunction with the presentation of research papers, new music performances are featured throughout the conference and composers are strongly encouraged to participate in the entire conference.
