Sacred Music Journal
The Church Music Association of America
The editors of Sacred Music are pleased to announce the introduction of peer review to the journal beginning in 2026 with volume 153. Published bi-annually, Sacred Music is the official journal of the Church Music Association of America and the oldest continuously published journal of music in North America. While Sacred Music has long published the work of distinguished scholars, we hope to highlight the academic nature of the journal through a new section of peer-reviewed articles. We invite contributions in the field of Christian liturgical music, principally that of the Roman rite, including hymnology, chant, sacred music history and analysis, the theology of music, and related topics. All manuscripts will undergo a double-blind review process, and submission guidelines are available on our website.
