Musical Infrastructures in Times of Globalization: Pasts, Presents, and Futures welcomes applications from scholars working in music and sound studies, theater studies, (global) history, cultural studies, media studies, and science and technology studies.
This 3-day workshop in Bern (Nov 5-7, 2026) explores the intersections of music and sound, infrastructures, and globalization. Taking up the “infrastructural turn” in music and sound studies, the workshop aims to continue and broaden discussions between audible infrastructure studies and musical infrastructure studies. Please submit all proposals to Jasmin Goll (jasmin.goll@unibe.ch) and Destiny Meadows (dmeadows@unc.edu) by April 15, 2026. Applicants will be notified by April 22, 2026.
