The Society for Christian Scholarship in Music (SCSM) invites submissions for edited volumes that explore topics of music, theology, faith, and the interactions between these subjects.
Books supported by SCSM usually have two editors. We particularly encourage projects that bring together editors from different disciplines (music history, theology, music theory, ethnomusicology, etc.)
Previous books in the series are:
M. Jennifer Bloxam and Andrew Shenton, Exploring Christian Song (Lexington 2017, paperback 2019)
Andrew Shenton and Joanna Smolko, Christian Sacred Music in the Americas (Rowman & Littlefield 2021, paperback 2023)
Eftychia Papanikolaou and Markus Rathey, Sacred and Secular Intersections in Music of the Long Nineteenth Century: Church, Stage, and Concert Hall (Lexington 2022, paperback 2024)
For proposals and inquiries, please consult the SCSM website (https://www.scsmusic.org/scsm-publication-submission-guidelines) or contact the chair of the publications committee, Markus Rathey (markus.rathey -at- yale.edu).
