The Department of Music in the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance at the University of Regina, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will commence July 1, 2026.
The University of Regina is located in the heart of a vibrant, and increasingly diverse, mid-sized city in the centre of the beautiful Canadian prairies on Treaty 4 Territory, the territories of the Nêhiyawak, Anihšinapek, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda peoples, and the traditional homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation, with a presence in Treaty 6. There is an exciting artistic renewal taking place in several of our leading cultural organizations. The Music Department in the Faculty of Media Art and Performance is proud to be a part of that renewal.
Candidates will be expected to develop a strong working relationship with local and provincial high school teachers, and to develop a recruitment strategy for the band programme. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to departmental, faculty and University service relative to the position, and be an active member of our university and external community. Knowledge of, and experience with, the Regina and southern Saskatchewan band community is an asset.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
