The Westfield Center for Historical Keyboard Studies is currently seeking applicants for two remote contract positions, which may eventually be combined depending on the qualifications and experience of applicants.
The Westfield Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting dialogue among keyboard performers, scholars, and instrument makers. The Center publishes the annual scholarly journal Keyboard Perspectives and sponsors conferences, symposia, panel discussions, workshops, and demonstrations, often in collaboration with major cultural institutions.
Workload for both positions will vary according to operational needs and projects authorized by the Westfield Board/officers. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (CONTRACT)
Strategic Operations
• Oversee day-to-day administration, implement the Board’s strategic vision, and manage the board-approved three-year budget.
Institutional Relations
• Maintain partnerships and ensure clear operational and financial boundaries with affiliated organizations and entities.
Legal & Organizational Compliance
• Ensure organizational compliance, including management of publishing contracts and copyrights (e.g., Keyboard Perspectives), and oversight of required federal and state corporate and tax filings.
Board Support & Governance
• Collaborate with officers and board members on agenda planning, governance initiatives, and organizational priorities.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (CONTRACT)
Bookkeeping & Finance
• Process payments and contracts and perform monthly reconciliations of bank and investment accounts using QuickBooks Online.
Board Administration
• Schedule quarterly meetings, distribute board materials in advance, and maintain the organization’s central Google Drive, including bylaws, minutes, and incorporation documents.
Communications & Logistics
• Manage the general inbox, maintain membership databases, and coordinate event logistics, including vendor relations and participant communications.
