Call for Papers: Intégral Call for Submissions Publications NEW

The editors and staff of Intégral: The Journal of Applied Musical Thought are pleased to announce a call for papers for Volume 40 (2027).

We invite articles on a broad range of musical topics, including theory, analysis, and criticism. Submissions may be either an analytical vignette (2,500–5,000 words) or a full-length article (6,500–11,000 words). Furthermore, we pursue an implicit mandate to foster the increasing pluralism and inclusion of the music-theoretic field, welcoming submissions to that end.

Authors are encouraged to take advantage of the multimedia possibilities afforded by the online format.

The deadline for submission is October 16, 2026. Submissions will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

1. Originality / Significance / Contribution to field

2. Multimedia Potential

3. Broader Social, Cultural, Political Issues

4. Style / Writing / Clarity / Creativity

5. Engagement with the Field

6. Cogency / Convincingness of Argumentation
