The Curt Sachs Award
Honoring lifetime contributions toward the goals of the Society. Winners receive an invitation to address the Society at its annual meeting, and are featured in our online and print content.
The Nicholas Bessaraboff Prize

The Frederick R. Selch Award
The Frederick R. Selch Award, named for an important collector of American musical instruments and second president of AMIS, honors the best student paper presented at an annual meeting of the Society. Winners receive a prize of $250 and are featured in our online and print content.
Grants
JAMIS Publication Grant
AMIS offers annual grants of up to $1000 to help defray the costs of preparing an article appropriate for publication in the Journal of the American Musical Instrument Society.
The William E. Gribbon Memorial Award for Student Travel
Several given each year to enable undergraduate and graduate students to attend the Society’s annual meeting. Includes membership and reimbursement of conference-related expenses.
Small Research Grants for Students
Research grants ($500) for student members to carry out research relating to the study of musical instruments.
