The Nicholas Bessaraboff Prize

The Frances Densmore Prize
Awarded annually for the most distinguished article-length publication written in English. Winners receive a $500 award, recognition at our annual meeting, and will be featured in our online and print content.
The Frederick R. Selch Award
The Frederick R. Selch Award, named for an important collector of American musical instruments and second president of AMIS, honors the best student paper presented at an annual meeting of the Society. Winners receive a prize of $250 and are featured in our online and print content.

JAMIS Publication Grant
AMIS offers annual grants of up to $1000 to help defray the costs of preparing an article appropriate for publication in the Journal of the American Musical Instrument Society.
The William E. Gribbon Memorial Award for Student Travel
Several given each year to enable undergraduate and graduate students to attend the Society’s annual meeting. Includes membership and reimbursement of conference-related expenses.
